As part of our ongoing spotlight series, meet Nishka.

What does a typical day look like for you?

My role sits at the nexus between clients and our internal teams, so my days have a lot of variety. Most days have an element of account management, project management (tracking tasks, budgets, time, etc), and working with tech/design teams to facilitate smooth workflows. I also get to chat to lots of people throughout the day which is always fun

How did you get into project management?

I studied English Literature at university and since then, my background has been quite varied. I naturally gravitated toward cross-functional roles rooted in organisation and communication, so project management felt like the perfect next step for me!

“Bravest thing I’ve done?

A freefall gorge jump! Though waiting on the platform was worse than the jump itself.

— Nishka Dhaya, Junior Project Manager

What’s the best thing about working with Athlon?

The people and culture! Athlon has an incredibly collaborative and supportive culture whilst maintaining the flexibility of being remote-first.

And of course, working from anywhere is up there too!

What inspires you?

Definitely the team; It’s really inspiring getting to work with people that are shaping and innovating their fields, and it’s great to see projects grow from a vision to reality.

Career highlight so far

I’m pretty early in my career, but so far I’ve been really lucky getting to work with, and learn from, some of the most talented and interesting people from all over the world.

What do you geek out on?

Literature! I love learning about different times and cultures through the perspectives of their writers.

That being said, I could have a new answer to this every other week – I love going down a new rabbit hole.

What do you get up to when you’re not plugged in?

I loveeee to travel, so I’m always planning my next holiday.

I’m also always looking for a new restaurant or recipe to try (I’ve recently been experimenting with my sourdough mix-ins). And in the past year I’ve taken up trail running, which has been a really nice way to get some fresh air and find some hidden gems.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be & why?

Teleportation or time travel!
